Korean middle school!

So today was ridiculous, and a lot if fun, but mostly ridiculous haha. I would have never guessed that our tour of a Korean middle school would have gone like this haha.
So to start off, one of the host parents of a nsliy student is an English teacher at a middle school in Korea, so she invited us to go your the school, meet the kids, and help them with a project!
The school was really nice, but the one thing I have noticed about Korean buildings is only the rooms are air conditioned. In the US, the hallways of offices, schools, and buildings are temperature controlled, but here hallways and bathrooms are most definitely without AC. The classrooms where we take classes are freezing, but the hallways can get quite warm because they don't have AC.
Anyways, the nsliy host parent/English teacher was definitely not expecting this many kids to show up. She thought maybe three or four would come, but our group had about twenty people! When we first got there, we were introduced to the vice principal and ten we went into her English class. First of all, the students were a little bit shy at first. Even the English teachers said they had never met American high school students, especially this many students at once. We gave a little introduction about ourselves and then we mingled a bit in the classroom. The girl students went crazy over the two 'American' (aka white) boys who had come. It got even crazier when we toured the school, students were following us (mainly girl students following the guy nsliyians) and screaming I LOVE YOU and stuff like that. They even took pictures with some of them. Our group was basically celebrities. It was actually really terrifying and overwhelming haha.
Then we went back to the classroom to talk to the specific group of kids (who are in an international/global issues club) and formed groups so we can help then with their project later!
After that crazy experience, we went back to the university. However, since there were so many people that they had not anticipated, we only had some bread and juice for lunch, so of course we stopped by seven eleven to buy some junk food to eat during break!
I would never willingly go in a seven eleven back home if I was looking for a snack- it would usually be a grocery store or a walgreens or something. Seven elevens are semi extinct/reserved only for road trips/really sketchy where I live, but here they are EVERYWHERE (along with cvs for you stores and gs25's). Plus it is kind of novel to go in because of all of the different foods. I went into a really big seven eleven in the Myeongdong area and it even had like jars of tea mix, stationary, and a variety of other things that usually aren't in seven eleven! Plus, Korean ice cream is the best so convenience stores are definitely the place to go to try a new ice cream bar.
After class (speaking of ice cream) a group of us went out for patbingsu and walked around Sinchon a little bit. We went to this supposedly famous Korean desert place and it was the best bingsu ice had here! We ordered mango bingsu and coffee bingsu and both were omgahmazing.
A girl in our group also showed us this really cool CD shop in Sinchon and it was pretty cheap! I need to consider carefully what CD I want to buy before I go back, because it was just too overwhelming this time haha. Also, the view on the subway ride home was ridiculously pretty!
It's always such a nice way to end a good day- a beautiful sunset view of the Han river.
